Another month has rolled
around and God is doing great things in our church and in our lives
individually. He is always true to His Word and we need to come to the
place that we put our entire trust in Him, and not in ourselves. That
is the place of power. That is the place of victory. It is the place
where satan remains defeated.
In 1st Peter 5 and
verse 8 it says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the
devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."
He isn't a roaring
lion, he just pretends to be. It is Jesus Christ Who is described as
being "the Lion of the tribe of Judah" and according to Revelations 5:5,
He has conquered and overcome all the works of the devil! In other
words, we don't just worship a risen Lord, but One Who has defeated hell
itself, and therefore, through Him, we too have the victory over all the
kingdom of darkness. But until we decide to stand up and take
authority, the devil will continue to 'bully' his way into our lives,
our homes, and this nation. It's time we put a stop to it!
Jesus said in Matthew
28:18b, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.",
which means that satan has absolutely none! It all belongs to Jesus,
and Jesus turned it over to us!
In Luke chapter 10
and verse 19, Jesus said, "Behold, I give you the authority to trample
on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and
nothing shall by any means hurt you."
We are the one's with
the key to this city, and this nation. And it is up to us to pray the
power of God, the anointing of God, the presence of God, the deliverance
of God, the righteousness of God and so on, into this place. It is what
God desires, and that's what gives us the authority to do it! It is
also what let's you know that you have the victory, even before you
start! Let's not wait for somebody else to do it. Let's make a decision
today that we will be that 'somebody', and that we will get in agreement
with God so that He can accomplish His will in this earth.
As a pastor, it is my
job to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry. And part of
that is to teach the Body of Christ to pray correctly, and get God's
ear, and reach God's heart. That is why we have committed our Friday
night service to prayer. It is a time that we come together, not only
to learn about prayer, but also to put into practice what we've learned.
If God was willing to
spare two cities for the sake of ten righteous people, what do you think
He'll do for a hundred righteous, faithful, praying Christians?!! Don't
underestimate your worth and value to God. You have been strategically
placed here for a reason. To influence this city and nation for God.
Believe in your destiny. Believe in God's ability to work miracles in,
and through you. Believe that you are 'more than a conqueror through Him
that loved us' (Romans 8:37). Believe God! ...And you'll live in
victory, all the days of your life!
