Flight of the Enemy

By: Anna M. Hull

Have you ever noticed whenever you talk the Word of God or about God that many people flee from you? Have you ever wondered why? I have often pondered upon these questions, and was given the reason why they flee.

In the New Testament, when Jesus was fasting in the wilderness for forty days and nights, Satan had tempted Him in three ways; spiritual, physical, and in the soul.

How did Jesus defeat the enemy? By speaking the Word of God. All throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, when Jesus spoke to the works of the enemy, they had to obey and leave.

When God created man, we were made in His image. Therefore, when man believes and is born again in Christ and walks with God, his becoming is in the likeness of Jesus. He should talk, walk, and become a living letter of Jesus. What a great privilege it is to be like Jesus. Even Satan wanted to be in the image of Jesus so much, that he deceived himself and others, which resulted in the destruction of his divine position that God, created.

Being Sons of God, God has given us authority and power to speak His Word and receive results. When we speak the Word of God, others may flee from us, because they are associated with Satan. If their master (Satan) fled, they will flee also.

So, this should be an example to us, as to how we defeat the enemy and why the enemy flees. Remember Satan feeds upon the fear of man, and when he hears the Word of God spoken, he hears faith instead of fear………..and he flees.
