1 Cor 12:27
27 Now ye are the body of
Christ, and members in particular. (KJV)
From the very beginning,
God created us in His image, to serve, glorify, and worship Him. The
relationship He had with Adam was more than Master to servant. God loved
whom He created and walked with him daily.
Gen 3:8-9
8 And they heard the voice
of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam
and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst
the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called
unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

Adam and Eve knew God face
to face. They had a daily relationship with the Creator of the Universe.
That is what God originally intended for his people. We fell from grace
when Adam and Eve sinned, but thank God we have a way to renew that
relationship through redemption in Christ. The blood of Jesus washed us
clean from the sin that we knew and makes us heirs to the throne of God
with Jesus.
Rom 8:16-17
16 The Spirit itself
beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then
heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we
suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Now that we understand who
we are in Christ, we need realize what we are to do here on this earth.
It is our responsibility to spread the Good News of Salvation to
everyone and to continue the mission Christ started over two thousand
years ago. Jesus went around healing the sick, casting out demons,
feeding the poor, and loving the loveless. We are to be the very image
of Jesus on this earth. Be cautious of this world and its offerings,
they can hurt more than we realize. Jesus said that we should be wise as
snakes and harmless as doves.(Matt 10:16-20) Don't confuse harmless with
weakness and lack of authority. We have been given rule over this world.
We ARE the authority here. When Jesus rose from the dead, He was given
the keys to death, hell, and the grave. That means He has total
authority in this earth. As soon as He received it, He gave it to us. We
are the children of the King of Kings and should reign on this earth.
Rom 5:17
17 For if by one man's
offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of
grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus
Christ.)

Follow Christ as head of
the Church. Allow Him to lead you in all aspects of your life. Just as
our body cannot act without the direction of our head, we should not act
without the direction of the Holy Spirit. Be sensitive to the leading of
the Holy Spirit and follow Him, then you will be victorious in Christ. |
