After you became born
again, did you ever sit down to think about what the whole meaning of
being born again is? Yes, we heard that we needed to be born again to
see the kingdom of God, but what did that decision really mean to us.
Hopefully it meant redemption for our spirits, soul, and bodies... total
restoration! A new person in behaviors, reactions, thought patterns,
speaking, actions, etc (2 Cor. 5:17). It's just like being a baby all
over again, except this time we are born into God's Kingdom instead of a
fallen kingdom. Where do we begin to learn our new way of life? By
seeking God's Word! (Matt. 6:33) In the Bible, God gives us instruction
in how we should conduct our daily affairs, worship, work, family,
church, etc. Studying God's Word we can know the perfect will of our
Heavenly Father in any given situation without seeking instruction from
another individual or object (Rom. 12:2). So, let's cast off the old
self (habits, thought patterns, actions, words, etc) and loose the
nature of God that we received through Jesus when we became born again
and serve the Lord to our fullest (2 Pet. 1:2-11). |
