I thought I would take a few
moments to share with you some thoughts that have been on my heart. God
has given me fresh insight into just what it means to be in His kingdom
and why that might be necessary after all. I hope these thoughts bless
you as they have me. Truth only comes by revelation not by teaching. I
cannot teach spiritual truth; I can only present what He has given under
His anointing and trust Him to give the necessary light to see light!
The first thing is to
understand is that God is wholly (completely) OTHER than we. He is
non-material. He is Spirit. His essential being is a Spirit being and He
dwells in a spiritual realm. We are spirits essentially too but as
Christ we dwell in a body as He did. We are spirits in human bodies and
citizens of both realms - the natural realm and the spiritual realm.
That is why the scriptures teach us that we are IN the world but not OF
the world. That is also supported by the idea in Ephesians that we are
now seated together with HIM in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That is
the spiritual realm.
This spiritual realm is what
we were made for. It is our eternal home. When we are born, we are born
in Adam not suited to that realm. We cannot breathe its air or eat its
food. We cannot see there for we have no eyes or sense developed for
that.
I don't know if you ever
watch Star Trek, but there are many spiritual principles to be found
there. One is their concept of the aliens. Many of the aliens were not
physiologically suited for earth and its atmosphere. There was one race
that had to have their own gas blown into their respiratory system
because that is the only way they could live. That is how we are with
the Spirit realm. We are not suited for it by birth. BUT WE ARE SUITED
BY NEW BIRTH !!!!!!
That is why we MUST be born
again (John 3). Then we can enter that spiritual realm and function
there. That is the realm of fellowship with God. That is the Kingdom of
God. For now an invisible kingdom WITHIN you, but later it will be
visible for all to see when "every knee bows and very tongue confesses"
during the millennial reign of Christ on earth. That is why Jesus said,
when asked about restoring the kingdom, that it is within us.
Now if you got that, you have
discovered that He is not about in this time period building anything
for man to see. He is about building lives and suiting them for the
kingdom. He dwells in that invisible realm - the realm of Spirit. He
wants us to fellowship with HIM there.
So what does he mean when He
says, "seek first the kingdom?" He is talking about FOCUS. What is the
direction of or life? Is it toward the earth and its realm, or toward
the realm of Spirit? Things there are totally different, as we have
said. The laws that function there are totally different. We must set
our heart's compass toward Spiritual NORTH! The realm of spirit which,
is truly the ONLY reality.
If we set our compass there
to do all things after that realm, then we know that we do the will of
God. We obey Him. And see all this comes from fellowship and time with
God. The realm of His kingdom now, as I have said, is the realm of
spirit. We enter there now. That is fellowship with God. Contacting Him,
really. I do not mean saying prayers to him or thinking about heaven. I
mean actually making contact in our hearts with the God of the universe,
the God of the ages, the God who loves you enough to die for you, and
then live again for you, the God who desires that you be eternally with
Him and that you start that RIGHT NOW!!!!
So when He says that it is
His pleasure to give you the Kingdom, that is what He means. It is His
pleasure to have you to gain access to His realm - the realm of Spirit -
through new birth first. And then to enter by a choice of your will to
be with Him. It is His pleasure to have you fellowship with Him there.
It is His desire to have you to open the door of your heart to
fellowship with Him in that realm. It is outside of the sense realm
here. It is a place - the place - where God dwells with those of a
humble and contrite spirit. It is the place under the shadow of the
almighty!
His kingdom come on earth is
only possible if we bring it as Moses did when he came down and had to
veil his face. From our place of fellowship with god, we can bring His
realm - a little bit of His realm - to earth. That is what you feel
sometimes when in a service His presence comes.
