How
many of you like to get comfortable and begin to read a great mystery
book? Wondering if you can solve the mystery. How many times does your
life seem to be like that great mystery book? Wondering what to do, say,
or how to respond to certain questions or situations that you're
involved in.
How
many of you think that the Word of God or God himself is a mystery?
Wondering how is He going to work in this situation or what is He going
to do? You get all anxious wanting to know what God is doing, but you
don't know how to get any details or know where to look.
Good
News! I have found some scriptures that can help us find answers to what
seem to be mysteries (wisdom) of God to us. Let's read them and see what
the Word of God says.
"And
I, bretheren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech
or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not
to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was
with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and
my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power. That your faith should not be
in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. However, we speak wisdom
among those who are mature, yet no the wisdom of this age, not of the
rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom
of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the
ages for our glory, Which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had
they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. But as it
is written "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the
heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit
searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the
things of a man except the spirit of man which is in him? Even so no one
knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received,
not he spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we
might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These
things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which
the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But
the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for
they are foolishness to him/ nor can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he
himself is rightly judged by no one. For "who has known the mind of the
Lord that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ. (1 Cor.
2)
In
these scriptures we find that God's deep mysteries were freely given to
those who love Him through the Spirit of God. For the Spirit of God
searches the deep things of God and reveals them to us when we seek God
and ask for His wisdom. The Holy Spirit instructs the children of God,
because they received the mind of Christ when they were born again into
the family of God.
So,
how do we begin to seek the Lord for the wisdom we need for our
circumstances? "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that
giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given
him." (James 1:5)
Let's unlock the doors in our lives with the key of God's wisdom,
instead of allowing anxiety to overcome our lives or begging God in
prayer. Let's bring the situation to God and listen to what He has to
say. If you have never done this before, here are a few steps you can
use.
First: Lay out the entire problem before the Lord. This will help you
see the problem clearly in a more objective point of view. The Lord may
point out some things in your situation that you may have missed.
Second: Listen for the Holy Spirit to advise you by seeking God's Word
about your situation. You can find great wisdom through the life
examples mentioned in the Bible. Open your heart and be honest with
Lord, and confess any sin that is hindering you. Be teachable and don't
get discouraged if you are rebuked.
Third: Act upon the wisdom that the Lord has revealed to you. Don't act
upon your own understanding or methods. Be obedient or God's wisdom
won't do you any good.
"Now
therefore, listen to me, my children, for blessed are those who keep my
ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain it. Blessed is
the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at he
posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor
from the Lord." (Prov. 8: 32-35) |
