Hi Brother,
I hope this finds you
doing well...these are just some thought's the Lord has been dealing
with me about ..I hope they are a blessing to you. You mean so much to
Him...and to me as we walk together in Him. I have been praying lately
about God's love and how it extends out through us. He so wants to reach
out and love His people, and He desires that His people reach out and
love Him in return. He stands at our heart's door...not for salvation
alone...that scripture in Revelation 3 is not about being born
again...it is about fellowship with the one who loves us purely and
eternally. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock if any man hear my
voice and open the door, I will come in to him and sup with him and he
with me." THAT IS FELLOWSHIP...wonderful and glorious fellowship. You
see He has just been talking in the verses prior about lukewarmness -
being neither hot or cold. Our warmness comes from our heart attachment
and relationship to Him. The thing is, relationship of this sort is a
choice not a gift. God does not give us an automatic relationship with
Himself. That must be cultivated through much secret communing with Him.
Let us not be like the Bride in the Song of Songs when He came to His
garden in chapter 5 looking for what pleased him (FELLOWSHIP). Compare
that scripture with the original plan in Genesis 2 and 3. God came into
the place He had prepared to fellowship with the creatures He had
made for His own pleasure.
In the Song of Songs Chapter 5, He is again in His garden, BUT where is
she, on her bed asleep. He asks her to open the door and let Him in. He
even shows Himself through the locks that she has made, but she stays in
her comfort zone. He is calling her to himself; she has her area of
comfort all established. He goes away. He will not force relationship.
It must be a choice. It is the same with us. We must CHOOSE to have
fellowship with Him. That is the only way to be an overcomer in the
sense that He talks about in Revelation 3. If you will notice, that
church is the final church mentioned in the letters to the seven
churches. Many feel this indicates that perhaps these are stages, in a
sense. If that is true, and it does fit what I am trying to say here,
then this is the situation in the last days - the situation now. There
is a need to overcome the lukewarmness and indifference. It seems that
many
Christians today are
trying to overcome by DOING. I talk to so many Christians who are "on
fire" to go do something FOR God. It seems from this Scripture that the
last days overcoming, the Laodicean overcoming, involves one primary
thing for us to do… OPEN THE DOOR AND LET HIM COME INTO THE HEART FOR
FELLOWSHIP. Father let us be on fire with a love for you first rather
than a love to go and DO. I hear brothers say, " I am so busy working
for the Lord these days." That is very important, but all job
assignments must come out of the place of fellowship. God never said
that we were ultimately called to this or that ministry, but He said
that our calling is unto the fellowship of His son. Out of the place of
fulfilling our calling in fellowship with the Lord Jesus will come the
sending. That comes from 1 Corinthians 1:9. Yes, God will send us out,
but
even that sending is UNTO
fellowship with HIm...the "end" is not the sending itself. The purpose
of the SENDING is unto a deepening of the fellowship. For it is the
fellowship that will be ours throughout eternity when all that we have
DONE here in earth has faded away like grass. For many years I did not
understand this. I felt that I was called to teach the Bible and
minister. After I was saved by a profound encounter with the Lord on a
hillside at age 16, I thought that I should go work for Him. I thought
His purpose for my life (and for all Christians) was that we win souls
for Him. To me that was the ultimate. It was after many heartbreaks that
God brought me to understand what I have just shared with you. His
purpose in our calling is that we might grow deeper in our fellowship
with Him. His plan is that from that wonderful place of fellowship,
we would serve Him by
doing what He says, when He says, where He says, and how He says. THAT
IS THE CHRISTIAN LIFE! What is our response to be? He is knocking right
now. He is sticking His hand through our bolted door while we lie on
"our bed." He is saying "come unto me." He desires fellowship with us.
He wants us to come near to Him. We must open the door and allow Him in.
Will we stay in our comfort zone - "our bed" - when He wants us to step
out and fellowship deeply
with Him. One might say,
"But yes, I did that when I was born from above." Yes we did, but that
is just the beginning. He wants us to open deeper doors - doors that we
have had locked for a long time and allow Him to come there and feed
us...and to take food from us (our worship).
The Savior is waiting to
enter your heart.
Why won't you let Him come
in.
There's nothing in this
world to keep you apart,
What is your answer to
Him?
Time after time, He has
waited before,
And now He is waiting
again.
To see if you're willing
to open the door.
Oh how He wants to come
in.
Father, may these thoughts
and testimony from the little basket of bread you have given be food at
some level in some way to all who would read this.
God Bless you,
