Faith Power

By: William W. Hull

Heb 11:1

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

(KJV)

Faith is the most powerful gift that God has given us. With faith, we can move mountains, heal the sick, and defeat our enemy, the Devil. Unfortunately, it is the most difficult concept for humans to understand. Simply put, faith is knowing without seeing. It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Webster’s Dictionary defines substance as "essential nature: essence. Ultimate reality that underlies all outward manifestations and change." That is a very strong statement where our faith is concerned. Faith is the essential nature of our existence.

Heb 11:1-6

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(KJV)

Without faith it is impossible to please God and without pleasing God by faith, there is no salvation.

Heb 10:38-39

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

(KJV)

Faithful belief is the key to righteous living because by faith we hear the Word of God and act according to His will.

Rom 5:1-2

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

(KJV)

Faith is also our most powerful weapon in winning our battles against Satan because anything we ask in faith will be done for us by our Heavenly Father.

Matt 21:21-22

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

(KJV)

The only question remaining is "How do we get faith?" It is very simple actually. When we were first saved, God gave us the measure of faith that we need by the Holy Spirit. We build the faith by hearing the word of God.

Rom 10:17

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(KJV)

The word of God is our faith food and Spiritual vitamins.

Let our prayer always be:

Lord, open my ears to Your Word that my faith will abound in you.
