Life is a difficult and
confusing thing, if we don't have direction. How can we make the right
choice if we don't know our final destination? How do we decide where we
want to be? Most parents, for example, want their children to have more
than they had. They want them to have an easier life. These are
reasonable desires, but, I have a question. How can we tell someone how
to get somewhere that we have never been before? Don't be discouraged
because there is an answer.
The answer is God's Word!
Let's look at some scripture that will help us. I call these verses
"God's road map to success".
Josh 1:8
8 "This Book of the Law
shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and
night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in
it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have
good success.
(NKJ)
The first thing to do is
know God's Word. If we do this, God promises that our way will be
prosperous and successful.
Prov 8:12
12 "I, wisdom, dwell with
prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion.
(NKJ)
God tells us that wisdom
(His wisdom), finds out knowledge and discretion. Knowledge is the
beginning of success and discretion will guide you in daily decisions. I
am not talking about worldly knowledge, but the kind that comes from
God, if we ask Him.
James 1:5
5 If any of you lacks
wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without
reproach, and it will be given to him.
(NKJ)
All we have to do is ask
in faith, and God will give us wisdom.
Prov 16:3
3 Commit your works to the
LORD, and your thoughts will be established.
(NKJ)
If we commit all our ways
to God, He will establish our thoughts. His guidance in this area is
vital to our success.
Isa 48:17
17 Thus says the LORD,
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who
teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.
(NKJ)
Deut 8:18
18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth
thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he
sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
(KJV)
God leads us to our destination and teaches us to profit along the way.
This does not mean that God will give you a lot of money just so you can
be rich. We should not be greedy. He teaches us to profit to establish
His Word in the earth. God wants us to be wealthy in order to work for
Him as He directs. If we are faithful in financial matters, God will
make us rich beyond our dreams, but we should always be listening for
direction from God in what to do with it. There are many more references
in the Bible that show us that God is ready and able to prosper us in
all areas of our lives. Trust in God, listen for His guidance, and you
can never fail! |
