Philippians 3.7--But what things were gain to
me, these I have counted loss for Christ.
Philippians 3.8--Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the
excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have
suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may
gain Christ. 9). and be
found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law,
but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is
from God by faith.
In the book of Mark chapter 14 when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of
Simon the Leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came having an
alabaster box of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she BROKE the BOX
and poured it on his head. So there were some people who asked why was
this fragrant oil wasted? They said they could have sold it and given to
the poor, and they criticized her sharply. But the bible says that Jesus
said, "Let her alone". He told them that she has done a good work for
him and that what she has done will be told as a memorial of her.
In order to receive God's blessing, you must first be broken. You have
to be willing to give God all that you got. The bible says that Jesus
said that what the woman had done was good in his sight and that she
would be remembered by her good deed. You see those who honor Christ,
Christ will honor them. Those who make sacrifices for Christ, he will
make sacrifices to them. If you are obedient to Christ, he will be
obedient to you. There are some people out there who need to break their
alabaster box. Everybody has a box that needs to be broke, but you have
to be willing to break it in order to receive your blessing. Be able to
humble yourself. See there is a box of pride that needs to be broken.
The bible says that GOD gives grace to the humble but he resist the
proud. See some church folks are too proud, to let someone know when
they are in need. If they are struggling financially, and they are too
proud, then they will not let anybody know that they need help. They
will go without, before they humble themselves, and ask somebody for
assistance. Because they don't want anybody to judge them. You need to
break the box of pride. Another box that needs to be broken is the box
of religion. See too many church folks try to put God in a box. They
say, well at my church we do it like this. We sing like this. We praise
like this. At my church.......... You can't put God in a box! You need
to break the box of religion. Another box that needs to be broken is the
box of memories. See often times, Satan likes to remind you of how you
used to be. He likes to show you how much fun you used to have when you
were in the "world". He likes to show you how much money you had when
you were in the "world". Satan will try to show you negative projections
about your life, and about your future, if things are not going right
for you when you are on God's side. He'll tell you that, you should have
just stayed in the world. Wasn't as much stress when you were kicking it
with me. When you had all those so called friends. Seems like everybody
loved you when you were in the world. Now that you are on God's side, it
seems like you lost all your friends. Where did all the people go? See
we need to break the box of memories. The bible says to forget those
things behind you. We are not to desire to do the things of the old. The
bible says that anybody who desires the things of the past, is not fit
for the kingdom of God. You need to break the box of memories. We need
to break the box of rebelliousness. Too many church folks, are
rebellious when it comes to the things of God. They say, I know we have
prayer during the week, but I'm not going, cause I got other things
to do. When in reality you really don't have anything to do, but sit at
home and eat and watch lifetime. See folks got they priorities all
messed up when it comes to the things of GOD. They'd rather go to the
fair, instead of go to church. Go to the club instead of go to church. I
thank God that New Years I was not in the club, but I was in church.
Because back in the day, I used to be in the club, and if I wasn't in
the club, then I was probably throwing a party at my house. But now that
I have a mind for Jesus, I'd rather be in church then anywhere else.
There will have to come a time in your life,
when you will have to start breaking some boxes. Start putting some
things away, and stop doing some of the things that you used to do. I
thank God, that he saved me in the nick of time. I thank God for where I
am NOW. I thank God, for the mind that I have now. I have realized that
everybody that run with you, ain't going with you, when it comes to the
things of God. Everybody always got something to do, and those are the
people who constantly have problems. Can't fight the devil. Satan just
beating them up everyday they got issues. Then when it comes to God,
they got to make time for him. Now what is wrong with that picture? It
all boils down to what is most important to you. If that man is more
important then God, then don't question God, when all hell breaks loose
in your life. If you always got something to do, then don't question
God, when he doesn't show up for you when you want him too. If you never
have any devotional time set aside for God, then don't question him,
when you can't fight that devil off of you. Like I said before, the
Devil know who he can and who he can't mess with. He knows who have no
fight in them, and who do. He know who pray, and who don't. If the devil
is constantly on you, and everything is always going wrong in your life,
is because you have not broken the box. You have not put those things
aside, and dedicated your life too Christ. See I gave the devil too much
of my time when I was in the world. And if there is any such thing as
making up for lost time, then that's what I'm trying to do. So whenever
I can enter into the house of the lord then I'm on it. Cause when I was
in the world, I jumped when the devil said Jump. I danced when the devil
said it was time to kick it. I drank when he said get drunk. So now I am
to obey the voice of the lord, and praise when he say praise. Pray when
he say pray. Give him glory where glory is due. We need to break the box
of familiarity. We tend to do the same things over and over with the
same people at the same time. We set a schedule for ourselves, and we
bond with common ground. We need to break the box of familiarity. If you
continue to do the same things, constantly doing the same sin, over and
over, constantly backsliding, then you will never see a change in your
life. Because with familiarity brings contempt. Do something you've
never done. When the spirit of God moves in you, then you will become
broken up. Jesus was broken up on the cross, but as you can see, with
brokenness comes power. The blessing is in your waiting. The blessing is
in your sacrifice. The blessing is in your obedience. The blessing is in
your faith. Break your box! |
